White Wicker Furniture – Caring for Your Wicker Patio furniture

Hello,

As I have said in a previous question, I managed to spill milk on to my sofa on Saturday night.

It was a glass of milk and I still managed to drink a load of it after I spilt it… so I don't think that I spilt ALOT on to it.

The thing is, as soon as I did it I think I mopped up a load of it with kitchen roll and I took a damp sponge to it the next day and gave it a quick rub the day after. no doubt though, if it's spilt on the the cushion, it will have soacked up at last a little bit!

So It's been 3 days now, and it HASN' T started smelling yet and there is no feel and you can't physically see that there has been milk spilt on it. It has been sat in a dry central heated room, and the actual sofa cushion is not wet at all anymore.

HAVE I GOT AWAY WITH IT?… Or will it start to smell when it's been sat in there with the gas fire on for a few days? AND if it does start to smell will it really start to PONG and be easy to smell when I sit on the sofa.

He was fine alone for up to 4-5 hours alone. now, he pulls the cushions off the couch and rips out the stuffing after being alone for 10-45 minutes.

He's house-trained and he's very smart, but he can't seem to get this right.

He is a puppy, and he does have energy, but he does this even if we walk him or play with him outside first.

What can I do?

Keep him in a room without soft furniture. He is probably teething, so get him plenty of chew toys.

If he is really young, he might still be teething. buy him some chew toys, and if you ever catch him doing it, scold him. or you could keep him out of the room that has the couch.

You say he's a puppy. What you describe is puppy behavior. after breeding dogs for yrs, my advice would be to get a kennel for him while you are away. a dog is a den animal. they like this space of their own. with a kennel situation, your dog is safe, and you are happy because you don't come home to a mess. you also have to understand a puppy is like a toddler. He could of gotten into something poisonous. in which case that would be very serious! buy a kennel that will fit your dog when he's full grown and just block off the back to give him room to get up and turn around. you say he is house-trained, so I'll tell you dogs do not like to go where they have to lay. take my advice and you'll both be happy.

Crate train him. Puppies usually chew on something up to two years old. (depending on the breed). Also I would never leave a puppy out for any length of time unsupervised. If he is chewing on cushions then he can chew on electrical wires and everything else. there are some house plants that are very poisonous to dogs as well.

would you leave a toddler home alone? that's kind of what you are doing with this dog…

there are these funking colored nail covers that last about a month or so. I don't believe in de clawing but if the cat is an inside cat and will NEVER go outside then this option may be better then a constant strain and yelling at the cat…which will create a frighten or snotty aggressive or both cat.

put a scratching post outside for him

Get it declawed, or every time you see it doing it, bump it on the nose. not hard, not too soft. Just enough to let it know that that is wrong. If it is not your cat, then put a scratching post outside for it, or get a fence. maybe put plastic stuff over your cushions. If it is somebody elses cat, tell them to make it stop destroying your furniture. maybe put some onion spray over your cushions. Cats hate onions. not a stroong spray, but enough to get rid of that pesty little critter, unless it's your cat. If it's your cat, don't let him go outside.

You can try Soft Paws ( the cushy plastic things mentioned above) and you could keep claws cut short to minimize the damage. a scratching post may help. You can also try covering the cushions with something unappealing to the cat, like double sided tape or tinfoil, while you try to get it to use the post. I don't reccommend declawing an old cat, very traumatic.

DO NOT GET IT DECLAWED..especially if it is an older cat.

I have recently read that if you spray your furniture with perfume it will help keep them off. They do not like the strong smell

get a scratching post thing for your cat they have them at the pet stores. If you declaw your cat it might stop using the litter box. and a vet might not want to do it since you said the cat was older.try talking to the vet about ways to stop the shredding of your furniture. have you been cutting your cats nails that might help.

Well you could get it declawed or you could get something called soft claws… check out this website softclaws.com/ , the price is reasonable, think about how much money you will save. or you could buy the cat some scratching posts this will help her get her frustrations out. when I worked at a pet shop I heard a lot of good feedback with product try it out!

IF I were my uninjured self, I could have given the Merrell Waterpro Maipo shoes a fair shake. as it is, however, I hurt my knee. My doctor suspects that I have a slight tear in one of my ligaments; I suspect that I’m old and not as thin as I used to be.

Given my condition, the only “test” I could subject these shoes to were brisk walks around the park, already an upgrade from the “essential” walking I was limited to (or as my doctor put it: “if you don’t get paid, don’t walk”). To use a motoring analogy, it’s like I test-drove an all-terrain vehicle in the suburbs. Merrell Waterpro Maipo shoes are ideal for canyoneering. They have quick-drying uppers made from ventilator mesh and Kevlar yarn, supposedly five times stronger than steel; Vibram soles that are “siped” — meaning the soles’ treads have slits cut into them to increase traction; and air-cushions that act as shock absorbers and stabilizers. The shoe comes in several colorways, such as gray combined with understated shades of either mint green or red. The toe box is snug and sizing is a tad bit smaller than usual. on first use, the shoes were so soft and squishily comfortable that I committed the rookie mistake of going sockless without breaking them in. The expected result was that I rubbed the back of my heel raw. I only have myself to blame for my wound, which has since healed, and Merrell’s construction is absolved of any fault. The ventilated uppers kept my feet cool and after weeks of use (with or without socks), the antibacterial insoles remain odorless. Meanwhile, the Vibram outersole did a good job of gripping a variety of everyday surfaces. but again, I wish I could have worn the shoes during a game of flag football or disc, or anything more challenging than walking. I appreciated the slim build of these shoes. Jeans fall nicely over them since they don’t have the bulky silhouette of tugboats. Merrell is a brand known for its outdoor products and I’m waiting for the day I get my knee back so that I can use these shoes as they were meant to be. When I’m good and ready to run, jump, trek and climb mountains again, I’ll have the Maipo on my feet. (Merrell Waterpro Maipo shoes, which retail for P3,590 a pair, are available at department stores).

Love it!!New to SLR digital photography. I am an obsessive researcher when buying big items and ended up getting a Nikon D90 with the kit lens(18-105VR). Did the same with camera bags. I’m not as crazy as some about the “sling” bag by Lowepro. I found this at best Buy then later ordered it on Amazon.for the money I love this bag! 1)It seems extremely well made. I can not imagine dust or anything getting to my precious camera when it is in this bag.2)It closes with a zipper and then a flap and then even has a bag for rain that covers the whole thing if needed. it comes from a hidden zipped pocket in the outside bottom of the bag.3)Very versatile with the pads & velcro to design the inside any way you want. (I had extra pads and put them in the pocket under the lid which helps protect the camera screen even more when the bag is closed.)4)Has a strong handle on top to carry or a an excellent over the shoulder adjustable strap that is easy to put on the bag but difficult to get off -which is good. you are not going to drop your bag due to the strap coming loose.5) The bag is just the right size. I would not get the smaller one. This one has some growing room. could fit another zoom or two, maybe a flash.6) PLENTY of pockets, everywhere for memory cards (2 specifically padded for the cards)or whatever.7) I even like the color.my D90 with the lens hood on fits lens down into it perfectly with pads on each side and room on both sides for more. Perfect Bag for Me!Previously, I had purchased the Lowepro Slingshot 200, thinking that it would be practical in its unique way of accessing equipment in a hurry. After auditioning it with all my equipment, I realized that there was no way that I would, or want to grow into the leftover space inside that huge camera bag. So, I returned it to the store. while researching camera bags further, I came across the Nova 180 AW. Knowing that I’d be satisfied with the quality from seeing other Lowepro bags, it was only the size that I was concerned about. Before I ordered this bag from Beach Camera through Amazon, I went to the local store to see the smaller, Nova 170 AW model to see how it looked for sizing. although the 170 model is not actually very much smaller than the 180, it only would hold just my camera with lens attached, a second lens and one flash unit. After trying all my equipment in the bigger 180 model, I see that it fits my equipment (Nikon D80 w/70-300mm lens attached; a 28-80mm lens; 2 separate flash units -Sb600 & sdx50) and with room to spare for 2 other lenses or flash units. I believe that I could reconfigure the dividers to hold 2 DSLR’s with lenses attached, plus 2 flash units or lenses. There are lots of pockets on the outside and an all weather cover which means a lot to me as I enjoy nature photography. The pockets inside the top lid hold lens filters nicely, and the smaller 2 pockets for SD cards is a very appreciated touch. I tried on the bag with all my gear inside to see how heavy it would be. Not bad, actually, and quite comfortable to wear on account of the padded strap. Prior to this whole ‘camera bag hunting expedition’ I used the Tamrac Expedition III backpack. it was a tad too small and was very inconvenient for getting at the camera in a hurry as I had to remove it completely and find a place to set it down flat in order to take anything out (otherwise, contents would just fall out of the bag once you’d unzip it, if it was upright). The Nova 180 carries like a purse, is accessable like a purse, is comfortable whether wearing the strap diagonally across chest or on one shoulder. I was concerned about its boxy appearance and how it would effect the wearability, but it doesn’t feel cumbersome at all. This bag is going on a trip with me and I’ll carry it on the plane. it crossed my mind that this bag screams ‘camera bag’ and I might be targeted by thieves, but I think wearing it across my chest will keep it pretty secure. The bag and I are both pretty sturdy, so we’d endure the struggle, no worries;-)I agree with the previous reviewer on this bag, particularly to get this size rather than the 170. The small difference in dimensions ends up being a big difference somehow, in terms of capacity.

Sitting on my mountaintop. My Precipice. My one true escape. you see, i created this abstract existance. all you see around me, is not mine, but i created it. What i am, is what you can be, free. Ever wanted to Watch the sunset in Hawii, Ride a gondala in Venace, have a 4 course meal in France and dessert in Belgium? how about all in one evening?

My world, can change to be whatever you want. Would u like to be famous, have people adore you and do anything for you? have people fired and rehired again by the nod of your hat brim. Would you like to live in Multiple, giant, million dollar mansions, each with 3 swimming pools, 8 bedrooms and 4 purple billiards tables.

A simple home life? Wife and 2 kids, a stunning private home situated on Lake View Drive, 1 km from camp. The super structure of the house, twenty five ancient and weathered Red Rivergum trees – powerful and natural. The entrance side of the house is grand, castlelike and is interestingly faced with stones from the hills. The massive pivot door opens into the huge main room and instantly you see incredible views through the front of the house – which is completely open.

Or perhaps relaxing on the beach is more suited to you? Think of the most beautiful beach you've ever dreamt of. The shimmering expanse of endless white that caps the cruciendo of waves and cushions the tide coming in. The oceans eternal rhythm, beating on the shore. On your own island, you have the freedom to enjoy life. However you choose to live it.

Your world, the world you know in fact, consists of two parallel worlds: technology-driven Earth, where you reside, and my world. The transition between the worlds is only possible in dreams. I am able to controll this. I in fact, am in a coma. The reason you are watching me, is that i have choson you. for long enough, i have lived alone in this "perfect" place. I have choson you. Because i can see you. I see you are worthy of this life. I have always been able to visit this world, "My Real Home". in my dreams i could fulfill my hearts greatest desires. It was perfect. Now, that i cannot leave, and am on my own, it seems like a nightmare. everything i want is at my fingertips, but it's hell without anyone to share it with. Now my one true desire, is to desire again.I do not anymore desire i just have.
I do not thurst for water, i do not feel my own hunger. I only ache, for companionship.

This is why i am calling out to you, I am willing, pleading to you to join me in my empty society. Only now i wish, that i had not jumped, headfirst. Into this dreamland. I wish i could be back, in the real world. I only hope some one is foolish enough to come to me. can anyone hear me, do you bother to listen? how do i know you are even there anymore. Maybe My World is the reallest thing in all the verses. this means im alone forever.Will someone please answer my pleads, before im killed by my own imagination. There will be no sirens, there will be no screams of witnesses, there will be no tears of mourne at my funeral, for i am alone.
